“DECISION” considers George Washington’s decision-making process to go ahead with the surprise attack in the determinative Battle of Trenton. Rumored that the plan was actually the idea of his doctor and friend, Hugh Mercer, whose life was lost the following week at the Battle of Princeton, George listened to counsel and made the final call.
On a frigid December 25-26, 1776 George Washington stood on the banks of the Delaware River in midst of an unanticipated nor’easter to contemplate the risks and strategize the attacks that would be the turning point of the Revolutionary War. Facing a ten-mile march with tired and hungry troops, cannons and horses, while three hours behind schedule in extremely bad weather, Washington decides to “push on.”
In that moment, he changed history.

Advertising, consumerism, what entertains, what defines culture, crime, perceived crime, hoodies—all of these concerns evinced in HORSEBACK POLICE shape our American urban experience.
Vigilant and armed, ominous almost silhouettes of police on horseback stand against a visual screaming assailment of color—adding to the tension. Police presence signals pending disruption—poised to deter, equipped to intercede.
